Review on 🐠 Chihiros WRGB II PRO 30-120 Aquarium LED Light: Enhance Aquatic Experiences with Aquatic Sunrise Sunset (WRGB 2 PRO 60) by Jessica Torma

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great lights, great customer service

This review relates to the WRGB II Pro 60 and its power supply. Updated (5/30/22): The power supply issue was quickly resolved by the seller. The power supply that I received as a replacement does not feel warm. The lights look great on my newly installed aquarium. I also bought a hanging kit that allows me to place the lights as high as I like. The colors look amazing and you don't get a rainbow dot effect as all the bulbs are RBG and not a mix of red/blue/white bulbs. Please excuse the zip stones. This hook keeps trying to swim away. I had a problem with the app. It was a hassle to choose the exact time you want. There is no time input, you have to move the round bar to exactly the right place. In addition, it is not possible to update an automation once installed without deleting the entire procedure. For example, if you want to change the color, you must delete and recreate the procedure. A few UX improvements to the Chihiros app would make this a 5 star rating. Initial Rating (2 Stars): I am setting up my first planted aquarium and have read that Chihiros are doing well in the aquarium community. I don't have any plants yet, so I don't know how well these lights work with real plants. The lighting looks good, the iPhone app is simple and intuitive, and the colors look appealing. What bothers me the most is the power supply. It's getting very hot. Too hot to last more than 10 seconds. It's in a plastic case with no heatsink so I'm not sure how long it will last. Also, these lights are rated at 74W and the power supply is rated at 75.6W. That's very close to the limit!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
