This is a handy stool that I use a lot every day to get a good view of everything in tall cabinets. You should inspect the stool before use, for safety reasons of course, and look for any cracks that would compromise the integrity of the stool. I'm not sure if the 400lb test was accurate, but I can say that if that 400lb sat on it instead of standing, it would work. There were people who weighed about 230 pounds. Use this stool for a long period of time without making a sound. It's quite large for something without a handle, which may make you feel a little unsafe. t help ahah Storage for this is great as it folds pretty flat, about 1 inch thick and easy to transport. However, I've cut my finger a few times after trying to put it down to use, but that's easily avoided. This stool is great but not surprising and I would have preferred to have bought a lightweight step stool for extra security. (At the time I was missing something with the height.)
