I bought my first pair of these headphones after one of my old Shure IEM headphones broke. Sure, they sound different to me (I'm very picky about sound, and most things really) but I wouldn't say the Shure headphones sounded better, just different, and it took some getting used to. I probably had to make some adjustments to the EQ, but that's what I expected. My first pair kind of broke after a year or so. I take good care of my gear, but sometimes other people help me pack and leave things where you can step on them. I bought 2 more pairs because they are affordable enough to have an extra set. I also recommended them to my drummer and his pair broke after about a month. I don't think he's that careful with his gear, so that could be at least part of the problem. Overall it makes sense to me to buy these bbns rather than the more established brands.
