They work with the Apple version pen. It's a softer tip that lets the stylus glide across the screen without the scratch, touch, touch, touch that comes with a cheaper fine tip. I was ready to return the cheaper Uogic pen because of the typing noise, but then realized I had made the mistake of buying a pen with the wrong nib size. I bought these replacement pens and they work great, making my cheap pen much more valuable and easier to use. I suppose if you're using a drawing app and want to get a very fine pen line, you'll be fine with the fine tip, but for most other uses on the iPad, that thicker soft tip is much nicer on your expensive screen.
