The first one I bought 10 years ago. One of my kids was fumbling with this and managed to break one of the pieces that attaches to the air vents so I just bought a new one. So the old one lasted 10 years! I looked at the new ones but went for it - it's cheap and suits me. I haven't encountered the problems that others have had with the button extending the holders. It's pretty easy to install. My advice is to first connect the two connectors to the base and then attach the connectors to the slats as sometimes it can be difficult to put the connectors back in place after you have inserted them into the center hole.
