Review on Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor lens, black by Dimitar Petrov ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but the product was pleasantly surprised.

It is recommended that a beginner or hobbyist photographer have it as their first fix. It has a crop factor of 75 millimeters, which makes it an exceptional lens for portrait photography (see examples on pages 0 and 554482). Some pros: Price, price and more price. For the price, you get stunning bokeh, accurate color reproduction, incredible detail and clarity even at smaller apertures, and in general, if you use it correctly, you can get some very wonderful shots out of it. Because the front lens is so deeply recessed, there is no requirement for a protective filter. Having this drawback: Backlashes will show up after some time if you get a Chinese assembly, which I do, but they are not a deal breaker. If the working aperture is more than 2.5, then it lathers on everything else. On the bokeh created by a camera with a narrow aperture, bright points (such as foliage that reflects light) give the appearance of nut-shaped reflections. The problem is caused by the design of the diaphragm, which only has six petals. However, this is not a major concern for such and such a sum of money. Because there is no built-in motor, owners of new screwdriverless carcasses (D3100, d5100) will have to manually focus their cameras using their hands. You will need to make a selection if the copy you have has a front focus.
