The FDA has issued a WARNING about grain-free diets like this one! I will not buy again!

I have been feeding my dog this food for many years because I believe it is a safe and healthy product. The FDA recently issued a warning (Google FDA Grain-Free Foods) about grain-free dog food. They specifically mention diets with potatoes as the main ingredient, like this one, as well as legumes like peas, lentils or chickpeas. They have been linked to fatal heart disease in dogs. Unfortunately, my parents' dog developed this condition after eating a grain-free diet, otherwise I probably would never have heard of this warning. Do not buy! I immediately switched my dog to grain food. Do what is best for your dog, not what dog food marketers tell you! Experts currently recommend switching dogs to proven protein (chicken or beef) and *grain* diets from companies with a long history and resources to research their products extensively, at least until they can figure out what is and/or isn't relevant -Standard proteins (e.g. lamb, pork, salmon, bison, venison, etc.). They suspect that this is due to a lack of amino acids or ingredients in these diets that prevent the absorption of essential amino acids. I hope this helps others not to get hurt like my parents dog did. It's destructive.
