I wanted a dog cave at the foot of our bed and this works well for that purpose. At first the dogs didn't like it and I declined persuasion, thinking I could at least remove the cover and use it as a dog bed. After they got used to it as a dog bed in various places around the house, I put it back on the bed. First I threw a small blanket over him, then I added a top and held the blanket over him. It works well and they use it. At first the outer material sounded rusty and the hanger too hard, although the bed pillow was very soft. Either the dogs sitting on the comforter or the weight of the comforter flattened the tire over time. So now it's more of the dog cave I had in mind. Although it's small, my pug doesn't fit in it, but my chihuahua thinks it fits perfectly.
