I think the people who have written reviews about how difficult it was to assemble have never assembled furniture in the past or don't have a drill/screwdriver and drills. short blunt screwdriver. These are the only necessary tools. It took me about two and a half hours to set up a table, but there was a game of Jeopardy in between and I made a mistake. Otherwise, I sat down on my chair and spread it out on the floor in front of me. Lovely little table and just the right size for the space.
