Whole house generators start every week and mostly run 5 minutes, in winter they do not reach operating temperature in 5 minutes and this leads to condensation getting into the engine. That is why the oil looks milky after the change. I suggest you schedule a 10 minute weekly test and use a quality Amsoil or Mobile One synthetic oil and a quality oil filter. If your oil is milky when you change it, consider changing it more often. Oil and water don't mix and they definitely won't protect your engine together.
