Perfect! best in cold weather gloves

Hello. My name is Steven [Hello Steven!]. and i have a glove fetish.sighs.yes. I freely and openly acknowledge that. And I'm not ashamed! When I saw these Wells Lamont gloves on the Super Secret Decoder Ring Level MAGMA website I jumped at the chance to get a pair. I bought a more traditional gloved version of the same gloves when I was in Montana a few years ago. I thought if they were half as good as these I would be very happy! How it is. I would say they are just as warm and comfortable as regular gloves. In fact, I would say they are BETTER than the others for the following reason: Finger gloves have a slight disadvantage due to the finish. The more surface area you have, the more likely the substrate (your hand in this case) is to lose heat/energy. There are seams and other places where they can "leak" heat, which can cause your hands to freeze. slow. but still heat loss. Sure, you can let all those cool, scientifically engineered fibers do their job, BUT any air that goes in or out takes your body heat with it. Any air flowing through the fiber insulation material is thermally devalued. Heat follows cold - thermodynamics. Trust me I'm an engineer. Once the heat is gone, it's gone. and up to your body to replace it. then the cycle repeats until then. Well, it gets too complicated and takes us too far aside. I was distracted. Mittens - on the other hand (hahaha. on the other hand. see what I made there?) only have one surface that can wrap around your hand/fingers in a bunch, so to speak. Yes, the area seems larger, but since the gloves have all the twists, cuts, and seams, it's probably a little smaller (no, I didn't measure). There is also only 1 or 2 leaks on the whole hand compared to 3-4 on a gloved finger. Okay, we have a "closer" environment with mittens. So what? Well I *DID* not tell you that mittens have a pair of lined gloves INSIDE the shell! Yes! You not only benefit from a windproof and weatherproof mitten body. You also get a thermal advantage when each finger is lovingly wrapped in high-tech webbing! And there is no (or very little) heat loss as there is very, very little air movement thanks to the specially designed shell AND the bungee cord in the wrist/glove area. It's really a win-win situation. And you thought it was just a pair of mittens. Even for a glove fetish, I understand the design and construction of these gloves. You have meaning. I think after 113 years in the business they have a pretty good idea of what they do. HIGHLY recommended for ANY cold weather activity. wet or dry, windy or still. EDITED TO ADD: Might be worth mentioning. If your hands are wet or damp, I strongly recommend that you dry your hands thoroughly before putting on gloves. Wet or damp hands [easily] do not get into the toes of the mittens. I tried it a few days ago and was disappointed. It wasn't a design flaw in my gloves. I know better, but it was cold and wet.
