In my experience the COMICA Traxshot is the perfect mic for vloggers and traveling DSLR/mirrorless users. The range it offers, both live and sonically, is fantastic, and ease of use is by far its most appealing attribute. While the price may seem higher due to the audio producer's role, I can definitely recommend this mic for countless indie setups that need a good scratch or stage tone. It can also be the perfect solution for conventions and music festivals where the sounds are everywhere and you don't want to miss a thing. Traxshot's features are fantastic and diverse. I've found myself mostly using the 30 degree mode for voice over recordings, like a guitarist looking through the gear and frequently switching between speaking and playing, and the directness is very impressive. The sound quality is impressive with fairly low noise levels as you would expect from gun mics and it's arguably my best tool for filming without having to set up my actual studio mics. I found the controls comfortable yet simple, and the other mic modes were appealing in the right context. 90 degree mode is best for capturing wide scenarios, wider instruments (if it's a live event) and the atmosphere of places. Mono mode is of course ideal for vlogging and only focusing on the presenter, although I would argue that front-to-back mode is the least useful (since the camera tends to pop up during the interview anyway showing a person. That would be though, they are great for capturing voiceover snippets but I didn't have to.In terms of build quality I can say COMICA will last me a long life cycle.and the overall product looks clean, professional and fairly durable looking. For the price you payAfter a short use as a rather clumsy photographer I have great confidence in the quality. The screen, while small, is very readable in the dark and indicates when COMICA is on and ready to shoot I have used it with a Sony A7SIII which doesn't necessarily have a good built in mic or audio in a jiffy the mic hookup is there Easy, given the fact that it's a USB-C connector, and the battery life is quite long for my use. My only gripe is the lack of an LED to show if the mic is on. Like a crossbow, I can sometimes forget if I have it on. All in all, buying a COMICA Traxshot mic solves a lot of the issues I've had. They don't want to set up lavalier mics for quick recordings, they need better stereo recording for vlogs, they want to capture the right sound from big sets at music conventions and festivals to mix with the board, and even do some small indie work and sketches and get perfectly synchronized sound. everything from your camera system. While film quality sound equipment can be a little pricey, I definitely see its merits when I get a recording. Recommended for YouTubers, traveling musician filmmakers, and independent filmmakers who need fast recording solutions.
