I stripped part of the wire and measured the strands with a micrometer and counted the strands under the microscope. As the seller describes, there are 43 threads, but each one is only 0.113 mm in diameter. This equates to about 20 AWG or thinner, at a current of 5 amps, which is nowhere near 18 AWG. I've had similar results with an imported red/black fiber optic cable imported from a country whose capital is at geographic coordinates 40N 116E. So this is a typical result with random electronic parts from Revain: no brand, no marking, no identifiable source, faulty patterns that cannot be trusted. Plug, 5 amps plugged through and 290 mV measured at the pigtail. So with a socket/plug combination approx. 58 mΞ©. The pigtail wire was barely warm, but the plugs felt warm. So I found that they are ok for 5 amps.
