Review on πŸŽ’ VASCHY Men's Vintage Water Resistant Canvas Messenger Bag | Laptop Briefcase for 14-17 inch Devices by Arnold Carrigan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

2 year review; My perfect bag!

15.6 inch model in gray I see it more as a long-term evaluation of the durability of this bag, so I won't say much about the comfort (I find it comfortable), whether the bags fit my needs and belongings ( they go really well with my clothes) or how they look (they looked exactly like the pictures when I got them and the color has barely faded over time). I received this in October 2019. for my freshman year as a replacement for my backup Thinkgeek Bag of Holding. Both of the previous bags had the lining in the main pockets ripped at the seams and I had to hold the lining up with more and more safety pins because I can't sew. It's time for a new bag so I compared the Revain a lot and settled on this one. It's late August 2021, almost 2 full years with this bag and it's still in great condition. The liner shows no signs of failure. The canvas is worn but in a good way, like a baseball glove; It's not as stiff as when new, making it easier to fit odd-shaped items inside. The zippers are still closed and do not need to be repaired. The straps and handles, which also bothered my old bags, are secure and thick. There is one thing to note about a shoulder strap when you are tall: I am 5'10" and wear the strap on my left shoulder with a pocket on my left side to keep the strap from crossing my body ( like person 1 on the last photos in the Revain listing) The strap is long enough when fully extended to sit in the perfect spot around my waist, but I think if I were a bit taller it would be too short .The shoulder strap isn't detachable, so if you're much taller you might need to look for another bag. I live in Illinois and it rains a lot here in the spring, so I took the bag outside a few times when it rained The waxed canvas and lining didn't get wet from the water but I'll still be careful not to leave it out in the rain for too long.wet and will hold some water so if wet enough it might get soaked. My dogs have him m pissed on several times and never. he was soaked from the inside. I can't remember if there was a washing guide in the bag and if there was I must have thrown it away because I can't find it now. I've been looking at how to clean waxed canvas and the first few articles say don't machine wash or tumble dry, dry clean, use detergent, or iron. Instead, you should hand wash it in cold water rather than hot, using a mild soap if necessary, and let it air dry. I've done this and it works fine. So yes, I still love this bag. It has lasted longer than any of my previous bags and I think it will last a lot longer. I will continue to use it and hopefully if anything happens to the bag that changes my mind about it I will consider updating this review. Until then, he gets a solid 5 stars from me!
