After much research into what pillow would be best for my comfort and best neck support, I literally bought 7 buckwheat flour pillows from 5 different manufacturers in different sizes. I'm so glad I finally found the best of them all and this pillow, WheatDreamz by Bean Products Inc (standard size 20" x 26") topped the list for quality and price. sold by a competitor for $98 in the same size. I'm sharing a photo of the filling compared to two other brands - one grown in the US and one imported from China. The imported filler is roasted and light brown compared to the filling. the most expensive fillers for pillows and legumes. Yes, I sieved them all to check for dirt and bugs ;) I sent back the one with mealworms (?) on the cover (eww). The reviewer wrote that it's not as full (maybe 1 pound less), but note that the more filled it gets, the heavier it gets. It is also firmer and less conforming to the neck, shoulder and head, making it very hard and uncomfortable to the touch. Most manufacturers have instructions for reducing buckwheat based on your needs and preferences. Note that the soft cotton pillowcase actually helps absorb the crackling sound of moving buckwheat. The thicker the case, the better, but it also amplifies the sound when you move your head. I suffer from dizziness and tinnitus so this is also a very important aspect of my choice.
