What a great, durable stand! I know it's sold as a tablet stand, but I bought it primarily for my Note 4. It works well for Kindles too. I also use it to hold my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 tablet in portrait mode (keyboard detached). I know why I should use Surface in portrait mode? Because I want to run specific android apps on this windows tablet. (You can do this with an Android emulator.) Many Android apps are designed for phone screens in portrait mode. So that's why. The Surface is great, but there's no built-in way to hold the tablet upright in portrait mode. This stand works well for this purpose if you hold your hand at a slight, not quite vertical, angle. The problem with the Surface in portrait mode on this stand is the center of gravity and where the top anchor point of the stand touches the tablet. Normal typing, tapping, and pen use are fine. Just try it yourself to get used to how hard you can (and can't) press the top of the screen so you don't accidentally knock it over. There are no problems at all in landscape mode (but you'd probably just use the Surface's built-in kickstand).
