I didn't know when I bought it that the locking mechanism was magnetic. This is great as you try to buckle up after getting up (or sitting down) in the bathroom and don't want to be ashamed of having to look down. The magnetized surface guides the locking mechanism and stays in place well. To unlock, simply pull the loop with your left hand and it releases easily. The tear resistance of the web material is amazing. I was able to hang from the center swing bar with a strap without stretching or deforming the material.
