Repair: in working condition. Light scratches on the bottom from normal use. The keycaps and case are very clean. There is also a clean creaking under the keys. This device has never been used much or the recovery process has been top notch. Product: As I would expect from Apple products, the build quality is excellent. The design is visually appealing and "just works". User friendliness. For context: I'm a long-time mechanical keyboard user and fairly new to the Mac world. Overall this is a comfortable keyboard, but compared to all other keyboards on the market it really falls somewhere in the "above average range for a laptop keyboard". So if you want a Mac layout and like laptop-style keyboards and want solid build quality, then this or its big brother really seems like the only option. "Reasonable" changes I would make: * Function key. I REALLY HATE the placement of this key. The best place I think would be to the right of the space after cmd and select it or at least move it after the ctrl key. * The F-key row is consistent and difficult to move accurately without looking. I would extend the board 1/4 inch and add extra space between f4-f5, f8-f9, or hey, who else has a floppy drive? Get rid of this key instead. If you've decided that this is the style of keyboard you want and are trying to decide between this and cheaper clones. I highly recommend going for the real deal. These cheap ones are thin and good. cheap. Save money and get fixed.
