Review on πŸ“· Canon PowerShot ELPH 520 HS 10.1 MP CMOS Digital Camera: 12x Optical Zoom, 28mm Wide-Angle Lens, 1080p Full HD Video Recording in Silver by Panos Jordan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pretty good for the money which is to be expected, the telephoto lens is very decent.

It was a pretty good camera. I don't expect anyone to buy this model new as it has likely been discontinued. Anyway, it's about what you expect for the money. It's very small, has a good long optical zoom, doesn't last very long on a small battery, and 1080p videos aren't the best, but it works well as a pocket camera. Certainly you can do some things with it that you can't do with a smartphone if you know how to operate the camera. The auto retractable lens on things is VERY fragile. They bend and warp so easily that I had to put the camera in a small pelican case to keep them from bending. When they bend, they cause a lens/boot flaw that won't go away on its own until you bend them back, and chances are they'll never be the same again. Mine still doesn't close all by itself, but let's not forget that this is a $100 camera.

Pros
  • World's thinnest camera with 12x optical zoom 28mm wide-angle lens with OIS
Cons
  • Hard to say
