Don't buy these

Wanted a third set of headphones for reference mixes and something that sounds good so I can just enjoy the music without taking my $240 headphones outside. I liked the fact that these are aesthetically very nice headphones. Excellent build quality. Insanely comfortable on the head. You can also detach the included sound card and just use it as a pair of stereo headphones that you can plug directly into the 1/8" jack, which is my favorite way of listening to music. I was sold sold sold sold sold. Add to that all the hype around them, I was sure everything was going to be fine! I hooked it up to my iPhone and played modern R&B with familiar tonal characteristics on my two different headphones (a pair of cheap MDRV2 headphones from Bose and Sony). these are more expensive headphones). I could hold them on my head for about 45 seconds. I tried adjusting the cans because I couldn't believe the dirge coming out of these headphones. Adjusted the landing and achieved nothing. Gave him another 30 seconds. It hurt to hear it. Frequencies below 800 Hz DO NOT EXIST. All highs above 8k sounded piercing and lifeless. It was like having two iPhone speakers in each ear - with better mids and better mids. I was totally disappointed. I have no idea that all the people who leave good reviews smoke. Unless you've never heard good headphones before. Even then, I have a hard time believing that someone would turn them upside down, hear a tune, and think they sound good. They are penetrating. Forget sound stage, image or immersion. They just sound piercing. Nothing below 800Hz and anything above 5k sounded shrill and thin. I also bought a Corsair HS60 Haptic and for anyone wondering between the two, the Corsair without haptic feedback sounds 100x better than these. Of course they are double the price but I think you get what you pay for. I didn't test the mic because if the cans sound bad, who cares.
