Without doing a full and thorough performance test (my meter is in the store) I can tell you that all connections seem to work well and the fit and finish is better than expected are, quality. Who knows how long the device will last, but I'd put "years" at this point. The only downside to my setup is that the USB-C connection cable is hardwired to the hub and is a bit shorter. But on my 2017 iMac, it comes to the table with little (barely) play.
