I wanted a plain dark wood tray to rest my coffee maker and kettle on the kitchen counter and I was specifically looking for sizes close to 17" x as possible 13", so it was a pleasant surprise to find a beautiful item like this in exactly the sizes I wanted! It's great, it looks exactly how I wanted it and it turned out to be really the PERFECT size for me. It suits me in terms of quality, but my standards here aren't particularly demanding; I just leave it in the same place 24/7. If you're using it as a real serving tray, you might need to be a little careful: it seems to be made out of VERY soft and light wood that creases easily. This makes it very light, which is very neat. I think one more thing I would like to say is that both the tray and the included coasters are very slippery at the bottom. You will need to add your own sticky pad below if you want this. I just used an extra non-slip pad that I happened to have and it fits the tray perfectly.
