I replaced my old water pump due to a leaking pump seal and bearing noise. I would recommend swapping the top and bottom water hoses and buying a new heater core tube when doing this job. Make sure you clean the surfaces well. It probably wouldn't hurt to swap out your thermostat and case. So you shouldn't have any problems with the cooling system for years to come.
