I'm not sure if the negative reviews are for the same product. Packaging: talking OEM packaging; thick construction paper. The item inside is in turn wrapped in protective paper. Instructions included. Sanitary tape included. Bracket: metal. Feels strong and heavy. The instructions say to tighten the strut with a wrench, which tells me it's the strongest, heaviest plastic I've seen if it's not metal. But it's metal. The description says the same. I feel sorry for those with a plastic mount. Hose: metal hose, plastic connectors. The hose is fabulous. Not the stupid plastic tubes that most of them come with. Hose connection with hand shower: plastic. Easy to hand tighten. I don't think the people who broke this know what "handy" means. This doesn't mean that you have to turn the thing with your hands with all your might. That means tightening with a little force until it stops. Do it, turn on the shower. If a little water drips, pull up a little more. In my experience, I took a light hand puff and started the shower. No leaks. But after that he gave a little more, so I tightened my hand again. Voilà hose connector with holder: plastic. Easy to hand tighten. The same as above. There are even clear labels showing which end goes with the sprayer and which end goes with the bracket. Manual sprayer: plastic. It feels light, but once you connect the hose and let the water run, it's pretty solid in actual use. The spray pattern is incredible. Absolutely complete coverage. So many more sprayers than most. The pressure is incredible. I'd say twice as good as our replacement Waterpik (both 2.5 GPM). Reducer: I didn't have the typical little washing machine that most of them have. I'm sure there is a reducer, but you won't be aware of it at all.
