This is disappointing. Considering the price and its ability to hold up to 70 pounds, the shelves don't hold many children's books at all. What I like least about these shelves, and what is most frustrating, is that the front hem is not high enough to prevent books from falling on my child! He was sitting on his beanbag and 4 books fell on his head for no reason - they weren't even tightly packed. I would return them if I hadn't already drilled huge holes in my walls for these shelves. I will build railings to widen the front edge so my child doesn't get booked. While I have no doubt they will remain strong/durable, I would not recommend these shelves for children to store. Books.
