When I first received this product, I knew it wouldn't take much time and effort to install. It would be nice to have a quick installation guide or video on the seller's page just to make sure you don't miss anything. I missed the paper peeling at the two curved strips inside the top cover. . The top translucent plastic has a sticky adhesive which I thought would be enough to stick to the iDrive grip. I was wrong. After taking a closer look and tearing those two small, curved strips of paper off the adhesive backing, I realigned the arrows on the top cover and pressed down evenly on the cover. When I did that, it clamped with no problems. Essentially, installation consists of removing the OEM plastic cover with arrows from the top of the iDrive control knob. I used the blade of a utility knife to finish the edge of the lid. Once that came off I slid the main body of the rubber grommet onto the iDrive body. If it were a tight fit, I would have to exert some effort to get it deep enough that there wasn't a gap between the case and the lid. Peel the paper from the curved adhesive on the inside of the cap, place it over the iDrive handle, making sure your arrows line up properly, and press firmly on all sides of the 'Viola'! You now have an updated iDrive grip that looks great!
