Have been using this filter for several years. It does a good job of removing some of the bad taste in shower water. I typically swap out the cartridges every 4 months and the entire assembly every 24 months. I also bought a shower shut-off valve earlier this year which was easy to install once the Sprite filter was installed. The valve could not be installed in front of the Sprite filter due to the construction of the filter recess. After a month of using the shower shut-off valve, the Sprite filter was bursting at the seams. I ordered another Sprite filter and found a note in the packaging stating that the filter cannot be used with a check valve. Therefore the filter cannot withstand the full line pressure. No problem, I thought. I am only adapting the filter to work after the check valve. However. I couldn't find a good, professional looking adapter. So I contacted the seller about the offer. The seller contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that the filter cannot be used with a check valve, however installed. My understanding of plumbing is that the knob I turn in the shower is attached to the shut-off valve. So it looks like the company is stating that there is no guarantee on their product when installed in the shower! Now in California I need a shower shut off valve due to our dry conditions.
