These items won't hold up without reinforcement as shown in the photos. No dressing is enough. When I tightened with prying tools (pliers and allen wrench) the braces holding the wooden blocks to the shelf threatened to come loose. (one did) So I drilled pilot holes through the shelf into the blocks and added screws. After my modifications they are so strong that now my new windows are a problem because they are plastic with a very thin rim! lol I need to add a small strip of wood over the edge of the window sill for extra strength. And then I have to adjust the angle of the supports. We have two adult cats. Sigh.
