We bought this mattress cover because our mattress was getting quite old and we needed a new one but needed to wait to purchase one. My husband was having back pain from our mattress. When I received it in the mail it was nicely packaged and there was no weird smell. I let it lay out in our guest bedroom to fluff out for about 12 hours before putting it on our bed. I was a bit skeptical because it was not as thick as it stated it was going to be I almost wanted to give 4 stars because of this but it was very soft and comfortable. My husband's back pain has been very minimal to none thanks to this topper (which is the whole reason we bought it) which is why I opted for giving it a 5 star review. I would definitely recommend!
