Nice high tech stuff!

I've reviewed other things like shoes and t-shirts before but nothing was that difficult before so this review will be a bit more difficult too. Pros: 1. Setup was pretty easy.*2. Can access the camera from a phone, tablet or laptop (I don't know why anyone complained about not having access through the browser, but it may have been before the new firmware update). If you have mydlink you should be able to access it from anywhere, which is pretty handy, although I've only used these features on the same network.3. The program is quite powerful - you can turn on and off the sound, talk through the camera, take photos and record videos. In general, this is not an ordinary baby monitor, but much more powerful.4. The packaging is pretty good and they even include screws if you decide to wall mount them. It's a nice little gesture. Disadvantages: 1. Audio delay during a call. When I try to speak, my voice seems to lag a bit, which can cause awkward pauses. Actually, I'm not going to be using this thing for conference calls with a kid, and by and large I'm not going to do anything other than goo-goo or gah-ha over audio, so I don't care.* Dlink, in my experience, is becoming a more and more user-centric spec as a user interface user. Their products tend to be powerful and geared more towards people who are a bit tech-savvy. For me I've got everything set up just fine, but if you were born in the 40's and 50's it might not be as easy to use as something from Apple like the iPhone (which I know is reliable). By the way, you should remember your password, which you came up with when connecting to the phone - it is convenient for updating the firmware. Tip: The user field is "admin" and the password is the one you entered when you connected to the camera for the first time. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I'm not sure
