I bought a pair of these socks a little over 2 years ago because they had such good reviews and I was really fed up with buying new socks that didn't breathe well and didn't warm last, offered no cushioning and wore out after a few years. These socks are insane. The price is absolutely justified. As we chat, I'm ordering more and working on an entire collection of just these socks. I've washed mine about 70 times and they lose their color very little. Texture and comfort have been retained and they are still my favorite pair of socks for any activity. They don't fall off as easily as other socks and oddly that's a nuisance I'm afraid of with other socks. I only wear mine once and then wash them, although I've warned them a few days in a row and I've had no problem with bog feet at all. These socks work well in cold weather (below zero), warm, wet weather (above 100). °F), wet conditions (rain and snow), intense activity (I ride it on singletrack), recovery (Netflix and cold). I just can't say I've worn them for dessert, but as they breathe in warmer, wetter climates I have no doubt they'll perform well even in dry heat. I bought some for family members as gifts and they loved them too.
