If you need to keep your hands free when you're out and about without trying to fasten the strap, this is a good bag. I will say that while the material will be a little heavier and time will tell how long it will hold up, as my last bag literally fell apart I needed something pretty quickly and I prefer a bag with a strap. It doesn't bind or pull, and so far I haven't had a problem with the strap slipping.
