Aiwa Exos-3 is an amazing speaker! Overall, a real 10 out of 10 for design, size, portability, durability, firmware upgradability, not to mention the sound quality. Indeed, Aiwa engineers have created a very worthy mid-range offering to compete with (and in most cases destroy) the big players Sony, JBL, Altec Lansing, Marshall and UE. In addition, Aiwa's customer service is second to none. Period! The biggest first impression you get upon opening the box is that this speaker is built like a tank. Very durable fabric grill cover with an extremely durable polymer chassis. The passive bass radiators are flared but extremely durable and feel like they're really well constructed to deal with any kind of strain. The button layout is clear and easy to use, and the included carrying strap (also easy to attach/detach) is very handy. Connecting to the Exos-3 is very easy and only takes a few seconds. One point should be noted. When you first (and later) connect to the speaker, the speaker/phone will be paired at 50% volume. It might be a little noisy for some users, so keep an eye on the volume on your phone or tablet. Speaker volume and phone volume sync on my iPhone XS Max. Pressing and holding Vol- or Vol+ activates the forward/backward function. Pressing and releasing the power button activates the play/pause function. Sound: yes. That's great! The additional tweeter in the center of the speaker provides good treble clarity that many portable speakers of this size lack. The sound is fuller and more precise than the Soundcore Motion+ and Motion Boom. The two main drivers do a great job of reproducing sound across the full range and also offer good stereo L/R separation. The bass is full and tight without being overdone or over-equalized. The Exos-3 is one of the best sounding and most accurate portable speakers in this size range available today. When you really need accurate sound reproduction, Aiwa knows what it does! The Exos-3 uses USB-C for charging and has a USB-A output for charging your mobile device. It comes with a USB-C cable and a USB charging box (unlike others that only add a cable). It takes 4-5 hours to fully charge the speaker. Note: If you really want an amazing experience, buy 2 of these and switch them to TWS or True Wireless Stereo mode. MY GOD! Such a great sound at such a great price. Super portable and very durable. Just buy one or two. And backed by Aiwa's outstanding customer support. You simply can't go wrong with this speaker!
