Review on Grey Hazel Beoplay H8 Wireless On-Ear Headphone with Active Noise Cancelling from Bang & Olufsen by Matthew Peterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The cons turned out to be fatal for me

I really wanted to fall in love with these headphones - they sounded great, noise cancellation was excellent, they looked great. But the advantages were outweighed by the disadvantages. Pairing in particular was inconsistent at best, and I regularly spent several minutes trying to get it to work. After all, I mostly used them wired. I also found that the microphone was not suitable for telephoning. The participant on the other end could not hear me. I ended up finding them unbearably uncomfortable to wear even for 45 minutes - in-ear headphones don't suit me. I returned them. (Based on in-store comfort and sound comparison tests, I chose the Sony MDR-1000x. I couldn't make a proper comparison with B&O because I was running out of time.)

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • low maintainability

Better than the H8i. Seriously.
