The 2015 Macbook Pro is still the best Macbook of 2019 in my opinion. I use an SD card reader all the time and have several USB 3.0 devices. I also use a newer 2017 quad-core i7 for work (not a choice), but the difference in speed isn't worth the extra money and lack of ports. When I actually ran the newer 2017, the heat issue is still an issue for Apple and performance drops. It's like I have a power I can't use unless I'm in the freezer. Don't give me any speed benchmarks, what matters is actual performance when I'm working on a project for hours at my desk. I also prefer the power of Magsafe (although this one uses Magsafe II, which I like less than Magsafe I, which has a stronger connection). I bought this for my wife and it does everything she needs. Although you cannot upgrade memory on these models, make sure you have enough memory for what you need. If you're looking to replace storage, then the mid-2012 non-Retina model, which also comes with a DVD drive and USB 3.0 ports, is your best bet.
