Review on Black Smart Audio Glasses with Bluetooth Connectivity and Polarized Sunglass Lenses by Jeremy May

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Poor frame and lens quality

I've tried both the first and second generation of these glasses and the biggest difference between them is the frame quality. These are really cheap low quality frames and I'm not sure if I received a damaged pair but the lenses were through gauze. Surprisingly, the Gen 1's sound quality is on par or even better than the Gen 2. Still, it's pretty decent sound at this price point, not overly good, but pretty good for just under $50. I can't say the same about frames or lenses. Now I'm getting ahead of myself a little. For me, these glasses are a real problem solver. I work with hot glass and enjoy listening to music while I work. After the headphone cord got tangled (more than once) in my flashlight, I made the blue tooth a priority. I'm also a sound freak so I have some really good headphones but I don't want to risk ruining some very expensive headphones so I do compromise a bit in my studio and what I usually wear costs around that level . The sound is much better. However, I've never felt comfortable with headphones. If they fall out when I balance a 2000 degree glass on a stick, that's a problem. These glasses are much more comfortable for me. They never fall off. As I said, this is the solution to the problem. I've already spoken to a person who makes commercial didymium glasses (safety lenses for hot glass work) to ask about didymium lens insertion. I will use Gen 2 because those frames are not worth the investment. Audio 4 stars. Depending on the price range. They are better than your average sub $50 headphones/earbuds. They're pretty clean. Lean towards high frequencies (this may or may not be a disadvantage depending on preference.) sounds like a good FM radio, there's not really much sound leakage. You can hear them from a few inches away, but you can. t nothing from 2-3 feet away, according to my husband Comfort: 5 stars Light weight Both are comfortable Controls: 4-5 stars on the touchpad on each earbud The controls on the left side of the set I received don't seem like you can adjust the volume and move back and forth in your queue. There are a dozen Gen 2 (or so) features that you can access by pressing either side or both sides 1-4 times, or holding for a few seconds which I think is too many to actually get to grips with remind without getting confused and easy to accidentally disable, accept or reject the call, enable or disable the assistant. On Gen 1 this set only has 2 on each side. On Gen 2 the controls work flawlessly and it's MUCH easier than on the tiny touchpad on headphones (any). Unfortunately they don't work that smoothly on gen1. I've been cut off multiple times. Points: 2-3 stars. The frames of these glasses look very cheap. The lenses weren't very good either) BUT I'm not sure I got a set that wasn't broken). The quality of frames for Gen 2 is much higher (and bigger). They are also interchangeable. Headphones can be used with different frames (from this range). They also cost almost twice as much but given the added benefit and the much better quality of the frame I would suggest buying Gen 2 over Gen 1. However, the sound quality of Gen 1 is equal or better than Gen 2. { and . once you're in the $100 range, there's much, much, much better audio quality available for that price.}
