You need an LED. Definitely makes people slow down.

Requires an LED on the switch to indicate it is on. I've left it on several times while driving. I've ordered a 12V blinking LED to add to the switch to remind me. Very bright. People definitely notice them and slow down with them. They have been installed on my stairs for several months and they still work great. Just run a wire straight to the battery and install the switch in the cab, so no plugging in and trying to find the switch while driving.
