The zipper often gets stuck - you need to increase the size

We had an upcoming trip to the mountains and a snowstorm was expected. Realizing my kids had outgrown their snowshoes, I ordered some new ones to try out. When this arrived my 4 year old son was very excited. He liked the color and how easy it was to put on. He tried it on around the house to make sure it would fit and stay on his feet. My son usually wears a toddler size 10-11 depending on the shoes. But for this I chose a size for a tall kid 1, and it fits him with little space after wearing thick socks. The shoes are heavy and look huge from the outside, but when you reach inside they are very cozy. I'm glad I got the right size so he can sit comfortably afterwards like putting socks on. The shoes worked great when tested at home, but once we got to the mountain, the zipper got stuck every time we used it. Most of the time I could only pull it out halfway. I tried tucking in the inner fabric to make sure it didn't get caught on the zipper, but no matter what I did, the zipper still only opened halfway. To keep my son's feet from getting wet from the snow, I have his waterproof Lining simply pulled all the way down to reach the center where the zipper got caught. It worked to keep his feet dry as the snow didn't get into his shoes. He didn't complain about getting cold feet in the snow for long periods of time. But with the zipper it hurt all the time. My son was able to unzip the zipper himself most of the time as it got stuck.
