Everyone Should Be Concerned About Safe Electronics! I would NEVER do without a surge protector for my valuable electronics. Of course, this is a simple and basic model, but even minimal protection is better than nothing. I don't use them for simple items like fans or alarm clocks. I only use them for the most valuable things like gaming systems, TVs and stereos. It's important to remind people that surge protectors do not protect against lightning strikes. They protect against overvoltages. I always check the weather reports and turn off surge protectors and connected devices when I know there's going to be a thunderstorm. This is a simple common sense precaution and well worth the 5-10 seconds it takes to do this. APC is a reliable and quality brand. I was looking for something simple and affordable so I bought two of these. They worked fine for me, no problem. I only wish the cords were longer but that was my fault. I underestimated my needs. So now I use one of them with a heavy duty 3 prong bottom extension. I expect them to serve me well for a long time and I am satisfied with them. Do you use protection? You must be!
