Review on ☔️ Ultimate Protection with the 13-Foot Rain Fly for Hammock – Lightweight Diamond-Ripstop Polyester, Waterproof 2000 PU Backpacking Tarp, Eno Rain Cover – Ideal Hammock Rainfly Tent Tarp by Jeff Jordan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very important! Now my tarp is goto 3 season.

First impression without packaging: I bought this tarp as a (hopefully less bulky and lighter) summer replacement for my large 12 x 12 foot tarp. Looks like a good tarp folded well. However, I have a problem with the duffel bag that came with it. As is typical of the tarp you get through Revain and I have 4 of them, once you take it out of the bag the tarp will never get back in unless your hand is a hydraulic ram. Therefore, you need a different packaging or storage method. Maybe it's too long for Snake Skins, but I don't know. Now I'm looking at small compression bags. (see update below). When I put it down I will test its ability to shed water. At 13 feet long, it easily covers my longest hammock without being heavy or bulky. One thing I've learned, however, is that you need to be careful when hanging this tarp, as you should with any tarp. I started with hanging slings attached to each end, and as I tightened the slings, they stressed the loops of the tarp. One eventually fell out, but even though it was my fault and the 90-day warranty had expired, the company replaced my tarp. That's what I call beyond duty. So how should you hang the tarpaulin? You must use a continuous skate line UNDER the tarpaulin. Just use paracord. You don't need anything expensive. Tie him to two trees and then drape a tarp over him. Then secure the ends of the tarp to the back with Prussian knots. If you don't know what it is then go to Youtube and watch. These are tie knots that slide back and forth along the spine line to adjust the tarp's position, but then snap into place. With this method, the end loops of the tarpaulin are not stressed and the tarpaulin lasts a long time. I know some people say that placing the back under the tarp causes frictional wear due to wind movement, but that's speculation and I know from experience that the other way isn't good. I will suggest to RV to add two more loops along the top of the tarp to allow the suspension spine to be used over the tarp instead of under it. Lets see what happens. Stuff Bag Update - I actually managed to put the tarp back into the duffel bag that came with the replacement tarp. As you will see below I use snakeskin, not a tarp storage bag, but I want to know I can use it if I want to. don't use them. They collect dirt and are difficult to clean. I use cheap round ones and just pull them out of the ground and then run a guy line over them to remove them. Very easy! You can get them at Penis' Sporting Goods, aka Dicks, for around $0.50 each, or at Revain, eBay, AliExpress, etc. You have to buy tons of this material. It's fine, but I'll be replacing it with a thinner fluorescent cord sold by ThreeBulls at Revain. When you light this material, it glows like a Christmas tree, even in a brightly lit room. Guyline Adjusters: I use the small adjusters sold by LiteOutdoors at Revain. The little boogers cost about $0.90 each in a pack of 10, but they're worth it. They are light and strong and allow me to adjust the lines under or even under the tarp rather than 10 feet from the end of the pole. And you probably only need 4-6 per tarp. Snakeskin: Sold at Revain by Hennessey Hammock for less than $20 for a set of two. This tarp fits well. By far the best way to store a tarp. Allows the tarpaulin to be hung up but only unfolded when needed. Highly recommended. This should get you started! :-) If anyone needs help and wants to email me, they can do so at the address below. It's a disposable address so I can easily remove it if the spammers collect it. I'm sure you can figure out how to modify it to use it. I'm not an expert but an intermediate level and happy to help where I can.jfm-azon [at] jfm30204.e4ward.com
