I was impressed with variety #1 and tried variety #2. It has many of the same blades from set #1, but for $5 you get 15 more Feather blades, which is about the same price. This is recommended for those who shave with safety razors and have not yet decided which blade they prefer as all blades are different. Also, the blades work differently on each person. So instead of paying for a 100 blade set and hating it, this diverse set lets you explore what you like and what you hate. The set also includes shaving soap, it works but not the best. The soap dries on the skin and the foam is difficult to absorb. Once you build it up, you can't shave slowly as the foam dissipates fairly quickly. I wouldn't use it if you're a beginner because it leaves no room for error.
