Review on Beck Arnley 178 8171 Ignition Coil by Jeff Rhodes

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The primary resistance was immediately out of spec

I bought this coil for my 1995 Acura Integra because the factory coil that is currently in the car has a primary resistance that is slightly out of spec (0.6 -0.8 ohms). . I took a Beck/Arnley 178-8171 ignition coil out of the box and measured its primary resistance as 1.4 ohms, which is only slightly higher than the primary resistance of my current coil. I'm not very happy that a brand new roll out of the box might not be the same as this one. I am particularly disappointed as I have had good experience with the Beck/Arnley distributor cap and rotor and expected them to be just as good. I will be returning this product instead of installing it and continue to have the same problem. Now if it's Beck/Arnley quality I'd rather buy a cheap part from a local big chain auto parts store where they at least have a hassle free lifetime warranty on these types of parts.
