What for what?: Chargers and adapters

I bought this unit to replace a damaged original Dell charger. Unfortunately, I used this to charge my Dell Inspiron laptop for about three days, after which the computer no longer recognized the charger, no more charging, or constant AC power. Revain contacted about 90 day guarantee. The return was processed immediately. I'm not sure what went wrong with the product but it could be a malfunction or cheap internal parts that have failed.
