Excellent reminder! I bought this memory to install in my white late 2009 Macbook and it has worked wonders so far :) My great Mac reads all 8GB of memory and uses it with no problems. I'm glad I spent $65 on it, it was worth every penny. UPDATE** It's been almost 6 months now, I wanted to update you so you know how it's still working. So 6 months later this memory is still working great, I've never had a memory upgrade problem and generally my old white late 2009 Macbook can open a lot of tabs with no sign of slowing down. Keep in mind that this Mac uses a CORE2DUO processor, not CORE i5 OR i7 processors, in other words it won't be as fast as my mid 2012 MacBook Pro. I can't edit 4K videos or AAA- Play games, but I can open more tabs and apps and just do more without waiting for anything to reload. I just bought this 8GB RAM kit to help my white MacBook keep up with modern operating systems. The processor gets the job done, but the very limited 2GB of RAM it came installed with held it back severely. It might have been enough for 2008 and 2009, but in today's world, 2 gigabytes of RAM is NOTHING. If I had saved 2GB of RAM in my white MacBook, it wouldn't have been able to boot the operating system in any way, allowing me to use my apps without being VERY SLOW AND LISTENING. This memory helps my Mac extend its lifespan and overall usability. Keep in mind that tablets and phones now come standard with 2GB RAM, my iPad mini 4 has 2GB RAM. It's just that using a modern operating system (Windows and Mac OS) requires at least 2 GB of RAM, which is enough to load the operating system and use it comfortably and smoothly without lag, but if you have plans for something else (like surfing websites , watch YouTube, Netflix, play a game or app, use iTunes, etc.), you will find that your system is very slow and generally unusable. I think if you want to use the computer the way it's intended you should have at least 4GB of RAM, but if you can install more RAM make sure installing more will only help your system. I'm keeping this product 5 stars because it's a great product, it's still doing what I need it to do and I want it to work with no issues. If you're thinking of upgrading the memory in your old white MacBooks, I'd say go for it. The CORE2DUO processors are still powerful enough to handle basic tasks like watching online videos, video chatting and some light gaming. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out (: Happy to help!
