Review on Happybuy Blacksmith Equipment Jewelers Metalsmith by Kristen Simpson

Rated 4 stars out of 5 because I had a few small issues. Other than that, this is a great anvil for beginners. Now I will tell you in detail about my problems. First off, this anvil is lighter, but I knew that when I bought it. As a beginner, be aware that for everyday use or large projects you will need an anvil weighing over 120 pounds. When trying to attach it to the base of my anvil, I found that the stamina/tool holes are too small to fit the mounting socket. The casting was a bit poor and incomplete. I fixed this by simply constructing some flat bar mounting brackets out of mild steel and mounting them on both sides instead of the ends and through the anvil legs. My final complaint is that I actually broke the edge of the anvil with a glancing blow while trying to forge the knife sharp. I fixed this by simply finishing the edges of the face with about a 1/4 inch bevel. It's also an absolutely fantastic beginner's anvil, especially for the money. Excellent hardness and rebound. Quiet good with chain or strong magnet. Would buy again.
