This is a fantastic idea and I'm so glad Lenox is making it! I've always wanted to have a special meal for Christmas dinner; However, I just couldn't afford to buy good (or even decent) china, let alone use it once or twice a year. I've always loved Lenox's festive pattern and was thrilled to discover it was made from the cheaper melamine. Better than anything? I don't have to worry about them breaking! I will not hold my breath while eating, if my children (and my nieces and nephews) are using them, or if friends or relatives offer to help with the dishes. They also clean perfectly in the dishwasher. TIP: Check both Revain and the Lenox website for deals on the Chinese version of this pattern. I was able to get a gravy boat + coaster and a covered baker for less than $30 each. I only wash them by hand and store them a little more carefully. However, if you look at my table, you will have a hard time distinguishing which items are melamine and which are porcelain. :-)
