I work from my home office all day. Over three years ago I read that large gamer mats are great for keeping the keyboard in place and the mouse comfortable over a wide area. I bought one and used it for 2.5 years but the finish was a little rougher than this one. Since the purchase I have noticed that the overall quality has improved significantly. The edge of another chair closest to mine started to fray slightly from regular contact with my hands, but it's not! The seams along the perimeter are denser and very high quality. I was able to completely remove small drips and splatters with minimal effort, and small crumbs don't stick to the surface. I am very happy with the quality of this rug! The only downside is the large black areas that highlight any dust and dirt, but that's due to the black finish (nothing to do with the product itself). I spent a couple of hours looking at all the different gamer-sized mats on Revain and their different claims of quality. I know from experience that not all are of the same quality. However, finish, surface smoothness, durability and traction are excellent on this model!
