I love this suit! And for a bigger girl, I felt a little bit sexy and it was totally safe. I wore it in the sea in Florida with no problems. I didn't even have straps on the top. My husband also liked it a lot ;o) The transparent part looks wet and really much more transparent on photos. But the overall fit was amazing. I have ordered two. One was in burgundy XL and then navy blue in size XXL. I went for navy blue for both color and fit. I usually wear a size XL (200lbs 5ft 2in) but the bottom and top fit better in the next larger size. Both colors were lovely and very close to the ones pictured. My husband and I liked the dark blue color better. . The top has an elastic strip at the top of the strap to keep it from falling off. We both thought he looked better without the straps. I love that you can adjust the bottom to be high waisted or not. Hopefully I can shed some weight on this baby and order a size or two smaller in the future, but I would definitely recommend this suit!
