I gave 2 stars because the current price for 30 bags of this size and thickness is good and the zipper is also secure. My issue with this product is that you can't have a bag that smells that strong when storing permeable dry (edible) goods, which is the advertised use for this product. The best way to describe the very strong smell that came from the first box I opened is that it smelled like Elmer's glue. In my case I wanted to store dried herbs (leaves) in it. I put a little on the test and left it in the bag for about an hour. As she put the herb back in, she smelled a faint scent of Elmer's glue. I don't want a product that will outgas (and therefore leak) into the dried food I intend to store, for safety and flavor reasons. There should be a resounding "NO” to food storage. The food storage bag or container should not release anything. I've been buying herbs in bulk for decades and they come in strong bags that are either clear or foil and none of them have ever had this problem. I had to return it or I'll destroy a huge crop of dried weed. Instead I used 2 liter cans (if you do this it is best to store in a dark place as exposure to light will spoil the materials hence these bags are not transparent).

Cons
  • Not as thick as others
