I can't remember the material used but it's very soft. Not super thick, which I like. Some of the larger shawls are now like blankets and appear to be worn rolled up around the neck. This sits perfectly on the neck. This is a large size to throw over your shoulders, but it won't be as warm in this case. I just needed something with some kind of pattern to bring my solid colors together. That was excellent. I could buy another one. Not sure about the material or if it will be pills.
